Contemporary Calgary is a world class gallery and arts center planned for the existing Calgary Centennial Planetarium and will feature Class A gallery spaces, event centre, Class A conditioned loading areas, artifact storage in addition to meeting and dining facilities. Challenges associated with this particular project are the reuse of the existing Planetarium with its extensive concrete Brutalist architecture and providing the required Class A gallery environmental conditioning with N+1 redundancy.
